Holding It Down For Yourself

I've run across situations that have left me speechless, but this is truly a sad state of affairs. It seems that people throw all caution to the wind to save a failing relationship. Granted, I've had my share of bum a** men but at some point a woman needs to pull it together. When love makes you forget who you are and what you stand for, it's time to take a step back and re-group yourself.

I know that everyone wasn't raised in a "Girl Power" household, but as a person who was, I know when to say enough is just simply enough! When a man drags through hell and back and you can't get your head above water there's a problem. Independence is something that  a strong woman should hold dear. But sadly, some of us forget how it feels "hold it down" for ourselves. There's nothing wrong with wanting your husband or boyfriend to take care of you, after all that what they are supposed to do. But when homeboy doesn't have a chap of hustle in him, it's time for you to make it happen for yourself.

Don't drop the ball on maintaining your bills, kids, priorities to make things work with him. Especially when you had money and status prior to him showing up on the scene. Why lose your self investment to make a person who never had anything or will never be anything happy?

Love can make you blind, deaf, dumb and crazy all at the same time. But when you really look at the big picture, love just isn't enough and it sure as hell doesn't pay the bills!!

So what's a girl to do? Should you have a heart to heart with homeboy for the thousandth time? Should you pretend like things will get better in time? NO!! Shake off the loving feeling and get YOUR mind right! Fact is a person that comes from nothing has to want to have better. Nothing from nothing is always nothing...simple math!

Don't allow yourself to sink to the gutter cause that's where he's from. Pick yourself up and give him his walking papers. Cause chances are if you have given the relationship a chance and no progress has been made in your life, but rather, you seem to be going backward, it's time for him to go.

How do I know this you may ask? Because it happened to me. I loved a man that had zero hustle in him. Dude wanted to make money his way. But it left the household lacking. All the love in the world can't save you when the rent is due. I stepped out on faith, and gave him walking papers. It was hard, but I'm sooooo very glad I did it. I still love him but I can't be a fool forever...and neither should any other woman.

Sometimes God will block a blessing from coming to you because of who you have in your house..BELIEVE IT!! Doors will open if you open your front door and give him permission to walk out!

First Post

OK, I'm bored so I figured this would be the perfect time to post my first blog. So here we go...
I never seen to find time for me at home so work is my haven of peace where I can find a listening ear and a warm smile from someone. Anyone? LOL Anyway, I always too busy for me. And can barely find time to think. So this is going to be an outlet for my inner thoughts and sounding board for all those many scenarios that play out in my head. Thanks to my lovely friend and co-workwer introducing me to Blogger, I have something else to muse over other than Facebook. :-) Strangely enough, I am getting sick of Facebook because it really reminds me of MySpace and Tagged....Can You Say BARF?!
