Update - Bianca Jones

The news is late and I do apologize to my readers …

On December 3rd , De’Andre Lane was sentenced to life in prison in the death of Bianca Jones. Bianca is the 2 year old baby from Detroit who went missing around this time last year. De’Andre Lane told the Detroit Police Department and the media that Bianca was kidnapped during a carjacking in his neighborhood.

De’Andre further complicated the case when he and his lawyer appeared on the Nancy Grace show (CNN) and failed to fully answer Nancy’s questions regarding the disappearance of Bianca. Cadaver dogs were brought to the home and picked up the smell of decomposing human remains. This evidence in turn was the cause of Lane’s arrest. During the trial, Lane’s other child (one of seven) testified that her Father beat Bianca with a wooden paddle because she had a bed wetting problem the night prior to the carjacking/kidnapping incident. Another child testified that Lane had Bianca’s car seat covered with a blanket when she was put in the car the next day. Lane told the child that Bianca was sleeping. The child said that Bianca usually snored a lot and was not snoring that day. That testimony and evidence sealed the case for Lane and without any doubts the jury felt he was guilty of the crime.

During the sentencing, De’Andre was escorted from the courtroom because of loud outburst against the prosecuting attorney. Banika Jones (Mother of Bianca Jones) believes that De’Andre is innocent of murder.  She stands by the fact that her child is indeed missing. Her family and friends feel otherwise.

I usually don’t give my personal opinion on case like these, but in this situation I will. De’Andre Lane does indeed have a serious case on his hands. The judge felt that he used the crime ridden state of the city of Detroit as a scape goat so to speak in his carjacking/kidnapping story. True a lot of people who have harmed their own children have went to the police and told these horrible stories about hooded men that have carjacked them and taken their children. So yes, we’ve heard it before. But for Banika Jones to feel De’Andre Lane was innocent speaks volumes! This is a grieving mother who has to spend the rest of her life wondering what happened to her baby. She is fully aware that Bianca was in De’Andre’s care the night before her so called abduction and because of him, she is gone forever. How could she conclude that he is innocent? Is she in denial? Or does she feel this in her heart because she knows Lane well? Others have said that even though De’Andre has seven children with seven different women, he wasn’t a bad guy. He took care of his children and was friends with the Jones family for many years. Perhaps, we are wrong. Perhaps, Lane isn’t guilty.

Update - Lyric Morresy and Elizabeth Collins - Iowa Cousins

The Evansdale Police are now trying to track down a killer.

The bodies of Lyric Morresy and Elizabeth Collins have been found in a wooded area in Evansdale, Iowa by some local deer hunters. The bodies were discovered at 12:45pm on Wednesday, December 5th.  Police maintain the bodies found are indeed Lyric and Elizabeth even though an autopsy has not been conducted. There are no other missing children in the area so there is nothing to compare the remains with.

Lyric and Elizabeth went missing on July 13th when they out on a bike ride. The local community, family and friends searched for the girls and only a bike, cell phone (was not working) and purse was found. Police and family members felt the girls were abducted by someone they knew. Suspicions circled around one of the girls Fathers who was in trouble with the law prior to the abductions. Not much regarding the outcome of this lead was ever leaked to the public.

The Evansdale community held a candlelight vigil to remember Lyric and Elizabeth last night. The out pour of love and concern in the community was overwhelming. They are driven for justice is this sad case to be served.

Police are still asking for any tips or leads to find who did this to Lyric and Elizabeth.

If you have any information, please contact the Evansdale Police Department at: (319) 232-6682

Update - Jhyesse Shockey's Disappearance Leads to Murder Conviction for Jerice Hunter

I have been working on this case since it aired on the news October 11, 2011. I have pondered it, talked about, researched and dug deep in any available information. Never once did I feel that 5 year old Jhyeese Shockley was kidnapped from her home in Glendale. It's sad that things ended how they did and all rays of hope were dashed when the evidence was presented. We all kind of knew she was dead.

New information was released in the homicide investigation of Jhessye Shockey.

As you may recall 5 year old Jhessye was reported missing by her Mother, Jerice Hunter on October 11, 2011. As time passed, candle light vigils were held and prayers for her safe return were sent up, the reality sat in that foul play was a major part of this case. Jerice Hunter was convicted of the murder of her own daughter.

The case files were released to CBS News 5 in Arizona. After reading 12,000 pages and combing through witness and family member interviews, I can safely conclude that Jerice Yaron Hunter is truly a despised and mentally ill woman. This report is listed in phases. It's a break down of what was in the police reports. There was a ton of information, people, names, dates and details. If you want to read the PDF files, please click on the link below.

The various police departments, FBI agents and forensic teams who worked on the case truly gave Jhessye Shockely’s case first priority. No one, not even Shirley Johnson (Jerice’s Mother) could disagree with that.

Phase 1: When Jhessye was  reported missing on October 11, 2011, the Glendale police department sprang into action and began a search of the area. Passerby’s, family and friends were questioned. Thousands of tips and sightings were phoned in. As the investigation was underway, the close relatives of Jerice Hunter were questioned. Jerice’s past was mentioned by all individuals. Stories about her drug additions, lack of family planning and abusive personality stood in the forefront of the investigation.

Jerice was facing jail time for the abuse and possible molestation of her 13 year old daughter (George Shockley was found guilty of the molestation) when she was 8 months pregnant with Jhessye. When Jerice was near time to give birth, she left California (where Shirley Johnson lived) to go to Arizona to be near her Father’s side of the family. Jheesye was born in Arizona and was given to Jerice’s paternal cousin’s Tycora Cole and Mahogany Hightower. Tycora Cole was granted legal custody of Jhessye. Jerice’s other children were sent to live with Shirley Johnson. Shirley Johnson proceeded to adopt Jerice’s three older children. Shirley Johnson then sent the older 3 to live in Arizona after the adoption proceedings. Shirley was a surgical nurse who did not have time to raise Jerice’s kids. In order to keep them out of the “system”, Shirley sent them to family members. The state was under the impression that Shirley had the children because she was still receiving government benefits for them.

Tycora Cole and Mahogany Hightower were interviewed and questioned regarding the disappearance.  “Jhessye was treated like a princess,” was the tearful statement that Tycora made to the investigating officer. All photos of Jhyeese that were used for the flyers seen on the news were picture from photo shoots that Tycora paid for. Jerice never took pictures of Jhyeese and never submitted any photos to law enforcement or the media.  Tycora assured the officer that they would have never kidnapped Jhyeese. As an infant, she was shown photos of Jerice and was instructed to call Tycora and Mahogany “Auntie” not Mama.   Jerice was released from prison after a 4 ½ year sentence. Shirley Johnson took it upon herself to “reunify” Jerice with her children. Jerice in turn decided to disrupt the ideal household that Jhessye lived in. She called the police and proceeded to take Jhessye back from Tycora’s care. Tycora remembered the day this happened. She told the officer that she had raised Jhessye from 2 weeks old to 4 years old. The entire time she was there she was sure to teach Jhessye who her Mom was. Jerice was not touched by the tender care given to her child in her absence. She was loud and became angry and took Jhessye away. Tycora combed Jhessye’s hair and told her she was going to the store with her Mom and Jhessye asked if she (Tycora) was going too. She said not this time. She broke down crying during the questioning. This truly hurt the Auntie that had raised such a sweet, loving child.

Jerice, with her 4 children in tow, moved into homeless and battered women shelters. Everyone was aware of this because all members of the family recanted the same story. Jerice was turned away from the homes of several family members because of her cruel ways and lazy, shiftless behavior. No one wanted to deal with her. On a particular day, Jerice fled a battered women shelter in Glendale because she was in trouble for beating her 9 year old child. According to Andrea (Jerice’s lover at the shelter), Jerice hit the child in head and blood was on the floor and bed where the child slept. Another shelter mate reported this and Jerice knew she would be taken back to jail for child abuse so she left. Jerice then found an apartment with the help of a fellow drug user and her Father Jessie Johnson. Jesse was responsible for assisting Jerice with rent and Shirley set up a separate account for Jerice’s other bills. Jerice also received public assistance in the form of foodstamps, welfare and Medicaid for all children.

Jerice was a Mother of 7 and has a 20 year old son and a 19 year old daughter. The other children are living with their Fathers and have no contact with Jerice or her family.

Andrea was questioned about the whereabouts of Jhessye and she told police that at the time when she lived with Jerice at the apartment, she noticed that Jerice was very heavy handed with the children, Jhessye mostly. She used to grab her up and punch and slap her very hard. When Jerice was told by Andrea to stop Jerice became angry and told Andrea they were her kids and she has the right to beat them. Andrea was asked if she felt that Jerice would harm Jhessye. She said she wasn’t sure. She wouldn’t want to think that but you never know. Jerice had a violent temper. Andrea had several personal belongings at Jerice’s home when she lived there. One such item was a large, black and red suitcase with a broken handle. Inside the case was Andrea’s photo albums. Andrea tried to get her suitcase back from Jerice but she would say she was too busy to look for it or she was 8 months pregnant and didn’t feel like looking in the shed for it. On one occasion, Andrea asked a family member of Jerice who goes by the nickname Lisa (real name Felicia Belamy) to go to Jerice’s apartment and get it for her. Jerice refused to let Lisa have it. Andrea never got her suitcase from Jerice. This was the last time she had contact with her.

An uncle on Jessie Johnson’s side of the family also was questioned about Jerice and he also mentioned her bad temper and her habit of dishing out cruel beatings. He mentioned to police that he would not be surprised if Jerice did indeed beat Jhessye to death and probably threw her in a dumpster. Note: This statement shocked me a bit because there were no notations of searching dumpsters until later in the investigation. How this uncle knew this..we have no idea.

Phase 2: More tips poured in and countless people claimed to have seen Jhessye walking into stores and getting out of cars. Even though all evidence led police to believe that Jerice’s story of leaving the kids home alone and Jhessye walking out was a lie, they still followed up on every single lead.

Shirley Johnson’s family was interview heavily. They all painted Jerice to be a mean, hardened woman who didn’t mind inflicting hurt and pain on others around her. Jerice’s Grandmother and Aunt’s confirmed that Jerice was pregnant more than 14 times and had many abortions. Shirley Johnson was a surgical nurse and was known for beating her children and Grandchildren. Shirley was said to have beaten the children until they had open wounds. Shirley would then stitch the wounds shut with supplies from the hospital where she worked.  When Jerice would contract an STD, Shirley would bring her shots to take to rid her of infections. Shirley was well aware of the horrid conditions her daughter surrounded herself in. Jerice had no motivation to work and was in fact pregnant at the time Jhessye went missing! Jerice was said to have still been using drugs while she was pregnant. She had not been employed since 2005. She depended on government assistance and selling food stamps to buy drugs and pay bills.

Several family members said they witnessed Jerice treating Jhessye differently from the way the older 3 were treated. It seemed as if she was jealous of Jhessye and hated the fact that she was raised in better conditions than the older siblings. There was also an incident that Andrea mentioned that Jhessye was playing with Play-Doh and got some on the rug. Jerice was so angry that she took Jhessye in the bedroom and beat her very badly. She was screaming to a point that Andrea had to confront Jerice and make her stop beating her. Jerice was mad and told Andrea that Jhessye is not her child and she can’t tell her how to raise her child. Andrea did say that this was an everyday occurrence in Jerice’s home.

Jerice was interviewed by police about the disappearance of Jhessye Shockley. She gave the same cock and bull story she told the media. She denied using drugs and drinking. Then when she was asked about the relationship she had with her children, she made her house sound a Laura Ingles-Wilder book! Needless to say, I wanted to puke! She made the statement that they are a normal family with rules and her kids and her are close. She blamed her Mother (Shirley Johnson) for turning her into CPS. But they have since then agreed that this was one big mix-up and she forgave her Mother. Jerice is truly a sick woman. No blame for anything ever went to her. She lied the entire time. She was the only person who had something even remotely positive to say about herself or her household.

Phase 3: The police met with the teachers of the Jhessye and her siblings. Numerous teachers were questioned about the behavior of the children and Jerice’s cooperation as a parent. All of the teachers mentioned that Jerice was quick to blame them for the behavior of the children. She would never return calls and the children missed a lot days at school. They asked about Jhessye and how she behaved in class. Jhessye’s teacher said that she was a bright student that got along well with the other children in class. She was a leader and loved school. Jerice was not very involved in her education. Child Protective Services was also questioned about the reports regarding the abuse of the children. Barbara Weaver (CPS worker) was interviewed. She confirmed that Jhessye’s last day of school was September 22, 2011. According to school attendance logs, Jerice was contacted about the absence of her child, but never returned the calls. Several cases were open on Jerice Hunter because of reports of neglect, physical and emotional abuse towards the children. The CPS worker would visit the home. Write in the report that the home was clean, there was food for the children so there was no problem.  CPS clearly dropped the ball in this case. They were question as to why Jerice was allowed to have her children back after serving 4 ½ years in prison for child abuse. They responded with this, “Children need to be with their parents.”  No regard was given for Jerice Hunter’s past situation or the fact that she was a drug user. They knew that Shirley Johnson was receiving government aid for all the children, but never really had them in her care. But yet they allowed this to happen.

A few weeks after the interviews with family members and schools, a neighbor came forward and told her story to the police. She said that her daughter was playing with Jerice’s 13 year old sometime in late September or early October 2011. She said that her daughter never mentioned what she had seen until the first candle light vigil for Jhessye. They were at the vigil and her daughter saw Jerice sitting in a lawn chair and said to her Mother, “I hope she gets what she deserves!” The lady hushed her daughter and on the way home she asked her why she said such a thing. The girl was afraid she would get in trouble if she told what she saw at Jerice’s home that day. But her Mother told her she needed to tell her. The girl said they were playing hide and seek and she wandered into Jerice’s bedroom. Jhessye was in the closet and her hair was all over her head. She looked very bad. Her eyes were big and swollen. She tried to get up to  use the restroom but had trouble standing the girl helped her up. She said that when Jheesye stood up and sat on the toilet, the bruises were black and large all over her legs and a large part of her face. Jhessye was wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts (as mentioned in the missing child report). After the restroom visit, she returned to the pile of clothes where she was laying in the closet. The 13 year old sister notice the girl was in Jerice’s room and told her she needed to leave. She said Jheesye couldn’t come out because she was punished.

When this statement was given to the police, this was a major break in the case. The police then requested an additional search warrant for Jerice Hunter’s apartment. Forensic teams and the FBI then came to take samples of the carpets, walls and other items in the home. The police also needed DNA samples for Jhessye. They in turn contacted George Shockley (Jheesye’s father). George was serving a sentence for child abuse and molestation (of Jerice’s 13 year old child) in a California state prison. George was very helpful with the investigation. He mentioned that Jerice was lying to the media and saying that they were not married but in truth they were married and had never filed for separation or divorce. He said that Jerice was a mean and angry woman. She was raised in a household (with Shirley Johnson) where beatings were often and brutal. Jerice did the same with her children. He recalled the incident that the 13 year was beaten badly (the beating that landed Jerice in jail). He said Jerice was angry over the girl stealing and beat her with an extension cord. She didn’t target any particular area of her body so the open wounds, scars and blisters were all over her body. George tried to stop her and pull her off of the child and she hit George with the cord and open up the skin on his chest. The wound was so deep that it had to be stitched up. He said that the children were never safe with her. He was also asked if she knew that he (George Shockley) was a registered sex offender. He said yes she knew and didn’t seem to have a problem with him being around the children from day one. George was asked to give a DNA swab for analyzes. He agreed and he wanted to help find his child.

A friend of Jerice (her name was not given) came to the Glendale police about a time in October when Jerice asked for a ride to another apartment complex. She said that Jerice had something to dump. Jerice came downstairs with a red and black suitcase (was most likely the suitcase that Andrea left there), she popped the trunk and Jerice got in the car and apologized for the odor of the suitcase. Jerice went to the dumpster (marked City of Tempe) threw the case in, got in the car and the friend brought her home. The vehicle was described as a gold 4 door Chevy Lumina with Arizona license plates. The police impounded the vehicle for forensic testing. The carpet samples taken from right passenger side of the trunk tested positive for blood. It was never stated in the report if the blood was indeed Jhessye’s blood.

Due to Jerice’s second arrest, her remaining children were taken from her a put in state foster care. The 13 year old wrote a letter to “Mah” ( we assume this being Jerice). The foster parent found the letter and discussed it with her. She said that she was tired of hold back the truth and that her Mother made her lie to the family and police about what happened to Jheesye. The letter was given to Glendale police and sent for analyses. Then Shirley Johnson was called in the office for another interview. Shirley was told that this was important and that she needed to arrive ASAP. In the meantime, Jerice was being arrested for child abuse. This case was no longer a missing persons case but a homicide case. Too much evidence pointed to the fact that Jheesye was dead and Jerice Hunter was the killer. Note: Jheesye’s body had not been found. And this arrest was risking double jeopardy, however; the chance was taken and she was named suspect number 1. Shirley arrived at the Glendale Family Advocacy Center (used to interview all family and friends in question) to meet with the detectives.  She was told that her daughter was in custody for child abuse and she asked why. They then gave her the letter to read.

The letter was a detailed description of what happened to Jheesye. The 13 year old mentioned how “Mah” (Jerice Hunter) kept Jheesye in a closet because she came home from running an errand, and Jheesye was in the living room watching TV with a little boy from the apartment complex. Jerice snatched Jheesye by her white long sleeve T-Shirt, called her a little “Ho” and drug her into the bedroom. She said how she screamed and cried. Jerice beat her for a long time. When she saw Jheesye, she was beaten very badly and there were cuts all over her face. Her hair was ripped out of her head and her eyes looked wide and sick. She was told not to feed Jheesye or allow her out of the closet. When Jerice would leave the home (for short periods of time) the 13 year old would give Jheesye food and water and allow her to use the restroom. But one day she said that Jheesye looked like a “zombie” her eyes were wide open and it smelled like a grave yard in the closet. When the children left for school, and came home Jheesye was no longer in the closet. In fact the closet was clean. The girl said that Jerice made her clean the shoes from the floor of the closet in a big blue bowl. Jerice scrubbed the carpets and walls and burned incense to get rid of the smell.

Shirley Johnson was not willing to believe that this happened to Jheesye or that Jerice did this and mostly that the 13 year old wrote this letter. She wanted to see the original letter. The detective told her this is a photo copy of the original letter. She felt like Jerice was being set up. Shirley was clearly taking Jerice’s side. She was told that this was no longer a missing person’s case but now a homicide case and that Jerice looked very guilty. Other family members came forth and now believe that Jerice Hunter did indeed kill her own child. One cousin said that they didn’t want this to be true but the evidence doesn’t lie.

Jerice Hunter has since then been charged with the murder of Jheesye Shockley and child abuse. I am sure other charges will follow for the welfare and food stamp fraud. All information given spawned the mass search if the Butterfield Landfill. People in Glendale complain about the time that was being wasting looking in a landfill for a body. The police didn’t leak this information to the media because of the seriousness of the case and not wanting Jerice’s defense lawyer to get wind of this. Shirley Johnson continued to tell the media that this was a witch hunt and the police needed to look for her Grandchild because someone has her. But she knew that Jerice was fully responsible for Jhessye’s death.  Due to months passing, heat and weather conditions  Jheesye’s body was never found at the Butterfield Landfill. The Glendale Police, FBI and other agencies gave there all to working and processing this case. No stone was left unturned. Jhessye’s body still has not been found.

This case shows the grievous error in the system when it comes to protecting children. CPS was alerted by the schools and family members and didn’t care enough to dig deeper into the complaints. Their main focus was keeping children out of the system. Countless cases like Jheesye Shockley’s go ignored by Child Protective Services and law enforcement every day. Punishment for child abusers and molesters is weak. The sentences are like slaps on the wrist. A few years is not enough and giving children back to worthless parents surely not the answer.  Jerice Hunter served 4 ½ years in jail for the abuse of her daughter, got out of jail bullied her family into giving the Jhessye back and now she is dead.

We as a country need to implement stronger law with longer sentences for would be child killers and abusers. Maybe a few young lives will be saved in the process.

Upadate - Bianca Jones

Justice Was Served!
On October 12, 2012 De’Andre Lane (father of Bianca Jones)  was found guilty of felony murder and child abuse. He is scheduled to be sentence in November. The jury deliberated for only one day.

The prosecuting attorney mentioned that the evidence proves that De’Andre beat Bianca to death with a stick, wrapped in a towel and duct tape. Lane has never gave information on the whereabouts of Bianca’s body. Lane seemed to be surprised that the jury felt that he was guilty. His guilt was displayed on Nancy Grace about a week after Bianca was reported missing during the so called “car-jacking” incident. Lane sat on the set of the Nancy Grace show with his attorney Terry Johnson and evaded every question Nancy asked. When he was asked if he could describe what the carjackers looked like, he declined to comment. Mr. Johnson refused to let him answer. This went on and on until Nancy asked Terry Johnson to SHUT UP and let De’Andre talk. The interview went nowhere. De’Andre Lane was guilty as sin! Anyone who watched the interview could tell.

Banika Jones (Bianca’s mother) mention in her testimony that she never felt that De’Andre posed a threat to their child. Lane would babysit Bianca on a regular basis, but on November 28, 2011 was her first time spending the night with De’Andre Lane. Bianca has never been seen or heard from since December 2, 2011.

Sadly, this news doesn't bring Bianca back or puts her in respectable resting place. Our thoughts and prayers are with Banika and her family as they cope with the death of a very precious little one.

Rest In Peace Bianca

Justice!! Update - Jhessye Shockley

This is the information I have been praying to hear for over a year now. I have checked for updates and info on this case everyday for a year. Jerice Hunter has been arrested for the murder of Jhessye Shockley. Hunter was arrested on Thursday, September 6, 2012 around 1:30pm at her home in Mesa, AZ.

This is truly closure for so many people who have helped to look for Jhessye in the landfill, on the street and spreading the word about her missing. We are confident that justice will be served and this little angel will be able to rest in peace.

Now Jerice will have to face the world and tell the truth about what she did to her child. We know the truth!

Update: Lyric Morresy and Elizabeth Collins - Missing Cousins in Iowa

I'm watching Nancy Grace and according to the evidence and pattern so far it seems Lyric and Elizabeth were taken by a person who they knew. They didn't get snatched. Mind you there are over 200 sex offenders in the area where they were! So yes, there is a very strong possibility that they were abducted by person they knew. I will be posting updates and the story unfolds.

Missing Cousins In Iowa

On Friday, Lyric Morrissey 10, and her cousin Elizabeth Collins were on an afternoon bike ride and never returned home. Where is Timeka Pridgen?

16 year old Timeka Pridgen has been missing since May 12, 2001. Timeka vanished in the early morning hours from her La Grange, North Carolina home, barefoot with none of her belongings. Timeka was classified as a runaway, but as we know in cases of missing children, this is not always the case.

Timeka’s mother, Cosandra Best, recalls last seeing her daughter at home on May 12th. Cosandra came home to take a nap and wait for her boyfriend, 31 year old Eric Moore. Cosandra woke up around midnight to find Timeka missing and Eric never showed up! Cosandra was in a state of panic when she realized that Timeka’s shoes and purse were still in her room.
Eric Moore is definitely a person of interest in this case. He is currently serving his second sentence in prison for sex crimes against a minor. There is no doubt in my mind that Eric Moore had something to do with Timeka’s disappearance.

Timeka was last seen around 10pm on May 12, 2001. She has braces , brown eyes, brown hair and is 5’ 7” and weighs about 165lbs.

If you have any information about Timeka Pridgen’s disappearance, please contact the La Grange Police Department: (252) 566-3400

Or Crime Stoppers at : (252) 902-2724

Child Neglect or Murder - Zyia Turner

I just read a story that magnifies the concept that people are becoming more and more careless with their children every day.

I was reading this story on MSN and seriously had to shake my head and this family that this poor little girl was born into.

17 month old Zyia Turner was reported missing on Friday, June 29th at 4pm. Her family lived in an apparent cluttered mess with a total of 12 people. The family made flyers and searched for her after an uncle who was in charge of the children couldn’t find her in the house.

But around 1:00am Saturday morning, cadaver dogs picked up the scent of little Zyia under a 20 pound load of clothing and notebooks in her mother’s closet! The careless mother Erica James, said that it was strange because Zyia never went into her two closets. She thinks maybe the baby pulled down some things off the shelf and got trapped.

?????? WHAT?????

1)      This is a 17 month old who is probably less than 2 feet tall. How could she have pulled down things off the closet shelf??

2)      Why did the (I’m sure fat and lazy) uncle not search the house? Was it because they didn’t shut the doors of the home and kids roamed in and out? My guess is YES!

3)      Where was 24 year old  Erica James? Why was her baby not with her?

This is a very sad that an innocent child had to die because of a family of idiots. What happened to old fashion child rearing? What happened to not allowing little ones out of your sight? I notice that a lot of mothers feel that if the child can walk they magically become independent. Wrong! Children need adult supervision at all times. This story makes me think these people are either hoarders or just plain old lazy ass people.

Little Zyia, you are clearly in a better place.

Rest In Peace Little One

Jhessye Shockley and Bianca Jones

Sadly to say, there has been no updates in either case. The landfill search is still underway for the remains of Jhessye Shockley and De’Andre Lane is on trial for the murder of Bianca Jones. I wish we would could get some closure on both cases and these little ones can be laid to rest.

I wonder what is the thought process of these guilty parents? I can’t help but wonder, what are they thinking now? Surely De’Andre Lane is sweating bricks. But Jerice Hunter seems to be getting away with murder!

Due to the time lapse between when Jhessye was reported missing and now, the likelihood of finding her is slim to none. Without proper evidence, Jerice Hunter can’t be charged with murder. Because of her 13 year old daughters statement, we all know Jerice is guilty as sin. But can she keep the secret forever? How does she sleep at night knowing what really happened? Her heart must be made out of stone to pretend to ignore the obvious. Sometimes I feel like the landfill search is becoming a waste of time. Are the Glendale Police Department looking anywhere else? What does Jerice’s mother have to say about all of this? Someone knows the truth. I just wish they would confess and face the music.

Back to De’Andre Lane.. Has Banika Jones (Bianca’s mom) spoke with him? Does she really believe his lie? Has she been asking questions about that night before Bianca was reported missing? He must think the public is stupid. But I give two thumbs up to the Detroit Police Department for going as far as they did to get evidence. De’Andre would still be free and probably making more babies if he wasn’t caught. I think back to the interview he and his lawyer had with Nancy Grace. He never mention beating her for wetting the bed the night before. He never said anything about her having diarrhea and vomiting. It sounds like her sickness had something to do with blunt force trauma to the head. I’ve heard those symptoms in other child abuse cases and fact is, he can’t pass off her being in an unconscious state on the stomach flu. This man is a angry cold blooded killer. I feel sorry for Banika Jones because she trusted De’Andre Lane with her baby. And because no family member had ever seen De’Andre in an enraged state they assumed that he was harmless. How wrong they were.

Child Abuse in America on the Rise

I just read a few stories on CNN that made my heart drop. Young mother’s that allow their live in boyfriends to beat their children to death seems to be a new trend. Honestly, something is so wrong with this.

Angela Monique Hanna, 30 year old mother in Bakersfield, California and her live in boyfriend of two months we arrested for the beating death of her 3 year old daughter, Trinity Hanna.

Angela was a recovering meth addict who thought it was a good idea to allow another meth addict who she so gracefully describes as a “functioning addict” to live with her and her daughter. Clearly drugs was the common ground in the relationship. The boyfriend was verbally abusive to Angela and physically abusive to Trinity. In fact, every time Angela left Trinity with the boyfriend, she would get hurt. Everything from burns on her back to knots on her head. Angela never thought much of it except for maybe Trinity was clumsy. The detective who interviewed Angela asked a round of questions regarding the nature of their relationship. Basically, this guy was a mean, drug addict and a jerk! Angela said that he didn’t pay bills and argued with her all the time. Her baby was just fine until she brought this man into her home. Trinity was taken to the hospital because of a “fall” or so the boyfriend said. This so called fall lead to abdominal damage, and a cracked skull. Trinity was systematically being killed in her home. Over a course of 2 ½ months this monster beat and abused this poor baby all because her worthless mother didn’t have the courage to call the police and kick this man out of her home. Both individuals are being charged with murder second degree murder. Angela is being held on 2 million dollars bail.

Here is the link to the story. Complete with court documents:   http://www.turnto23.com/news/31028849/detail.html

In Denver, CO little 3 year old Elijah Carpenter died in a similar way. His mother’s (Kristina Carpenter) live in boyfriend Lysander Benjamin had a very heavy had with Elijah. In fact, he would use this child as a human punching bad! Lysander lied to police regarding his death. He said that Elijah fell. When in reality, he would “box” on him for punishment. Kristina sat by on several occasions and watched Lysander beat her son. She would sent Lysander text messages to stop beating him. Unreal! In April, Lysander beat Elijah so badly, that he caused massive bleeding in his brain, broken ribs and the coroner reported that Elijah’s spleen was healing from a previous blow to the belly. How could someone be so cruel to a child? For God’s sake, he was only 3 years old!!! Justice has been served for Elijah Carpenter. Lysander Benjamin was sentenced to life in prison without a chance of parole and Kristina Carpenter was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Update in the Isabel Celis Case 4/25/12

Isabel was reported missing at 8:00am on Saturday, April 21st. And now Tucson Police have moved the search to the local landfill. Police have reason to believe that clues that can lead them to Isabel are in the landfill. They are sifting through tons of garbage that was picked up on Saturday from the alley near Isabel's home.

Police have scaled back the search of the family home and are focus on the surrounding areas. The Celis family is allowed back in the home but have not yet returned. The police plan to search drainage pipes and sewers for Isabel.

Ironically though, Arizona is the same state where Jhessye Shockley went missing back in October of 2011. Sadly enough, Tucson and Glendale are too very different places. Funding was a large part in why it took so long to search the landfill for Jhessye but yet Tucson was able to start a landfill search three days after Isabel was reported missing.

I think if all missing children case were handled the same way, we would be able bring the children home safe. Same state, children of the same age. But both missing children cases were handled very differently. The laws regulating cases like this should be streamlined. Landfill searches should not take months to organize. Due to the fact the if there is a body there, it will begin decomposing faster than if it were buried or in the woods for instance. It’s simple science.

Update in the Bianca Jones Case - 4/23/12

On Tuesday, April 17th, DeAndre Lane was arrained in court for the murder of his 2 year old daughter, Bianca Jones.

Lane's 8 year old daughter was at his home on December 2, 2011. She was on the witness stand on Tuesday to tell her side of the story. She mentioned a time when she herself, wet the bed and Lane became upset. He held her panties in front of her face and stuffed them in her mouth as a punishment. Other members of Bianca's family knew that Lane had an issue with his children not being potty trained or wetting the bed. It appears that perhaps this was the cause for him harming Bianca on December 2nd.

The 8 year old also stated that she got dressed for school that day and waited in the living room for her dad to drop her off. She said that Bianca was in the car seat with a blanket over the entire car seat. Bianca never moved. She said that the baby snored when she slept, but this time there was no sounds at all.

It seems very clear that little Bianca was killed by her father (if on purpose or by accident). DeAndre Lane is covering this up and forensic evidence will tell the story. I'm happy the Detroit Police have Lane in custody and he will be serving a possible life sentence if convicted. At least law enforcement didn't fall asleep on this case.

Bianca's mother, Banika Jones still holds out hope that her baby will come home. She said, "Until they find a body there is hope."

Despite her hope and prayers, I know that Banika knows that DeAndre Lane killed her baby. It's a harsh truth that she and her family are facing. Our prayers are with them.

Where is Teekah Lewis??

Teekah Lewis was a loveable 2 year old who was boasted upon as her mother's little shinning light. Teekah was 2nd to the youngest of 5 daughters to Theresa English. Theresa was a single mother living in Tacoma, Washington. Thresa raised her children to love each other and to be close. Teekah was shy but loved her family. She was known to carry a Winne the Pooh blanket everywhere. And on the night that she was taken from her mother's loving care, Teekah felt brave enough to leave it at home.

On January 23, 1999 Theresa along with her 2 month old daughter, boyfriend and family members went out for a night of bowling at Frontier Lanes in Tacoma. The family was having a good time and Teekah was too. Later that night a lady with 4 men (who did not bowl that night) sat at a table near Theresa and her family. The lady was admiring Theresa's baby niece and asked her sister-in-law to hold the baby. The lady was reluctant to return the baby and it caused a bit of a scene. Theresa's older brother broke it up. And the lady a 4 men continued to sit and watch the bowling.

Teekah want to play the racing games in the arcade area and Theresa took her there to play. Theresa left Teekah there to get her baby and she turned around and Teekah was gone! Theresa would have never guess that her 2 year old daughter was truly GONE! The bowling alley shut down and the search for Teekah extended out to the nearby woods, parking lots and other shopping area. There was no sign of Teekah.

Theresa called her brother who was working as a security guard. He came to assist with the search for Teekah. The police called in the entire family for questioning. At that time, Teekah's father was in jail. And after 24 hours and no sign of Teekah, Theresa had to contact him to let him know that Teekah was missing.

Time passed and there were no leads in the case. Information about other children being sexually assaulted and attempted abductions at the Frontier Lanes surfaced. Apparently, these case were not reported to the public for awareness. Several children were harmed by random men that camped out at the Frontier Lanes for the purpose of assaulting and/or kidnapping children. Perhaps, if Teekah's mother knew this, maybe she would have never taken her family to that bowling alley. The media and police didn't feel the need to shine negative light on this business and sadly, Teekah Lewis fell victim to some sick freak on the prowl.

The Tacoma Police department questioned people that worked at the bowling alley and one person came forward with a lead. A woman called and said that she noticed a dark green Pontiac Grand AM speeding out of the Frontier Lanes parking lot around the time that Teekah went missing. We assume that this was indeed the vehicle that abducted Teekah.

Other leads have come up in the case but they were not accurate.

Theresa and her children have held out hope for 13 years. My prayers are with this brave mother. The idea of not knowing where her child (who would now be 15 years old) could be is beyond comprehension.

Teekah Lewis would now be 15 years old. Her mother and sisters miss her very much and needs
closure.

If you have any tips are know the whereabouts of Teekah Lewis, please contact the Crime Stoppers at: Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959

Keeping on the Watch

I'm happy to see so many people are truly concerned about finding missing children. Websites like Humble
Opinion http://humbleopinionforum.net/ are dedicated to finding missing children and uncovering the truth behind the story. I have recently found a new website, this young woman covers cases of missing black children. Most cases I have never heard of on the news. In fact I Googled some of the names of children on the website and strangely enough, I couldn't find any info about the cases! The name of the is Forgotten Victims Black Kids Heaven http://www.forgottenvictims.info/index.php?option=com_content&view=featured&Itemid=101

The website is chalked with information about the cases of missing and murdered black children that have not gotten much or any media attention. Several cases were featured on the TV One special series, Find Our Missing. Even though many years have passed since these little ones have disappeared, the public should still be aware of the cases and finding out what happened to these children. A lot of the cases give detailed descriptions of the children and what happened to them. Sadly, some of the bodies have been found in river, lakes, under freeways and over places. However, some of these little victims’ families do not have closure because the killers have not been found. This is why we must keep their little faces in the spotlight with hopes that someone know something about what happened to them.

Please take time to click on both links. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of any of the children featured, please contact the police department in that area.

Thanks for your continued support!

6 Months of Heartache - Lisa Irwin

Little Lisa Irwin has been missing since October of 2011 and there has been no sign of her. Reading about this really struck a cord in my heart. As a mom I couldn't imagine not seeing my daughter for 6 months. The idea that you don't know where she is or if she's even alive is very heartbreaking. Lisa's family has missed her 1st birthday, Christmas, and with Easter and Mother's Day around the corner the Irwin family is having a hard time.

The family has been cooperating with the police in trying to locating their baby, and this makes it obvious that they most likely are not at fault. My heart goes out to them. This is probably the hardest thing a person could ever face.

Our prayers are with them.

Updates in the Bianca Jones Case

As of yesterday, a break in the missing child case of Bianca Jones was made. Bianca's 32 year old father, De'Andre Lane is being charged with her murder.

Detroit Police say that after a detailed investigation, they have discovered that Bianca was abused the day she disappeared. They did not disclose how she was abused, however, they feel that they have more than enough evidence to charge Lane with her murder. 3 months ago when Lane told police that he was carjacked and Bianca was kidnapped, the Detroit Police was sure the he was lying. Now the truth has surfaced and De'Andre will have his day in court.

This was obvious from the start. Lane used the oldest lie in the book. I can recall at least seven cases of missing children where the suspect told a lie about being carjacked. And just like the other cases, the truth was revealed. I'm not shocked about this because I knew he was guilty. The fact that he felt the need to bring his lawyer into the picture so soon showed the whole world that he was guilty.

Let Justice Prevail!

Find Our Missing - Episode 5 - Evelyn Shelton & Alexis Patterson

Evelyn Shelton - 44 year old woman - Spartanburg, SC - missing since May 21, 2011

Evelyn was a kind woman who was the oldest of three children. She was a devoted sister and great friend. However, Evelyn had a problem with holding down a job and a troubled love life. At the age of 29, she was divorced. Evelyn met a man named Stacy Dickinson and she remarried. Evelyn soon fell ill and had to give up her job as a clerk at an insurance firm. She was on disability for over a year. This caused Stacy stress and their marriage was struggling. Evelyn began to get better and was soon back to feeling herself again. She joined a new church and met a man who was married and began an affair. Stacy found out about it and soon divorced Evelyn. Evelyn was heartbroken and left with money problems. She was going to lose her home and decided to take in a roommate. Lori Edwards moved in but Evelyn still had money problems. They later moved into an apartment. Lori saw Evelyn often because they both had an active church life.

Evelyn was known to enjoy male attention and had it often. Sadly though, it was always married men. Evelyn be-friended a man by the name of Johnny Sanders who went to the same church as Evelyn. Friends said that Johnny had an interest in Evelyn and they dated but soon broke up. Evelyn borrowed money from Johnny and they spent lots of time together.

On May 20th of 2011, Evelyn told her roommate that she was going to Johnny's house for bible study on a Saturday night. Evelyn called her cousin on the way to Johnny's house to chit chat. Her cousin advised her not to go there because she was leading Johnny on to think she was in love with him. Evelyn didn't listen and went to Johnny's house.

Lori knew something was wrong on May 21st when Evelyn didn't come home. She then called Tim (Evelyn's brother). Tim went to the police on May 22nd to file a missing persons report. Lori told police where Evelyn went that night and police then arranged to meet with Johnny Sanders. Johnny was sweating and looked sick when the police came to the boarding house where he lived to question him. He told police that Evelyn was reading and got a text message and suddenly said that she had to leave. She was in a hurry, grabbed her things and left. That was the last time Johnny Sanders heard from Evelyn. The police were not sure that Sanders was telling the true. They went to Johnny's apartment to bring him in for a polygraph test. They got to the boarding house and Johnny looks asleep on the bed. As they tried to wake him, they realized that Johnny was dead! The key person in this case has die due to complication with his heart. Johnny was a recovering addict and had diabetes. Apparently, it was just simply his time. Later that week, Evelyn's car was found three block away from Johnny's apartment with an empty gas tank. Then a man who  Evelyn had a planned date with the night after she went missing, found her wallet in a drain pipe not far from where her car was found. Her ID, credit cards and check book were wet but still in tack. Perhaps her disappearance had something to do with the relationships that she had with married men. No one knows what really happened. Evelyn Shelton's case is open and active. However, there have been no leads in the case since she disappeared on May 20, 2011.

If you have any tips on the disappearance  of Evelyn Shelton, please contact the Spartanburg Police department at (864) 596-2376

Alexis Patterson - 7 year old girl -  Milwaukee, Wisconsin - missing since May 2,
Alexis was a bright 7 year old girl who lived with her mother, Iyannaha Patterson and her stepfather Leron. Iyannaha was a single mother at the age of 16. Kenya Campbell was the father of Alexis and he was always in and out of prison. Iyannaha raised Alexis well and took very good care of her. She later met Leron and the two were married. Leron had a son who came to live with family. One May 2, 2002, Alexis wanted to bring snacks to her second grade class at Hi Mount Elementary school. Iyannaha told Alexis to finish her homework the night before. The homework was complete so Iyannaha told Alexis that she could not bring the snacks to school. Alexis was upset but left for school. At 3:00pm on May 2nd Iyannaha said that Alexis never made it home. She asked other children who had gotten off the bus if they had seen Alexis and they all said no. Iyannaha then went to Hi Mount to ask if the teacher knew where Alexis was. the school said that she never arrived at school that day. Iyannaha was in a state of panic! She rushed home to call the police and report Alexis missing. Day after day the police combed the area. The FBI was called out to assist on day five of the search. But there were no leads. The police began to turn to the family for answers. Iyannaha and Leron took polygraph text and questioned. Leron didn't pass the test but Iyannaha did. Rumors began to surface about the case. Kenya Campbell (who was in jail at the time) said that word on the street was that Leron was involved in drugs and Alexis was caught up in "grown folks business".

This is a very common situation when drug trafficking is involved. Children and adults are kidnapped and murdered all the time over drug debits. Leron admitted to having a drug problem. Leron had served time in prison for drug trafficking and robbery. I fact, her was involved in a deadly shooting of a police officer but only served two years in prison because he testified against his partner who was the trigger man.

Years later they have been no leads in the case. Iyannaha and Leron were divorced because she felt that he was hiding information from her. This is a very sad case because this family is deeply hurting for closure.

If you have any tips or information about Alexis Patterson, please contact the Milwaukee Police department at: (414) 935-7263
